August

Okay this might do it for catching up on the summer fun. We bought a watermelon and had our own contest. Oops, it wasn't seedless. Swallow the seeds or spit them out.

First grade, can you believe it. We can't have a kid in first grade. Am I that old to have a child in first grade. He absolutely loves first grade and his teacher. He comes home most days worn out, and asks to go to bed at 7 pm. Of course his favorite subject is PE, and he enjoys recess. He has a little locker outside his classroom to keep his back pack and coat, and other stuff that goes in a locker. On the educational side of it he says he loves the math and science. It is so much fun to hear about his day at school and with his friends.

This is at the county fair, this is a toy you can have in your back yard. Who wouldn't want an airplane in your yard.

Also at the fair. Brody and Kaylee riding ponies. (Thanks Grandma McKinnon) They love riding horses despite not being around them alot or hardly ever.

A big tire, a boys dream to climb, climb and climb. The kids loved climbing all over the tractors, and farm equipment.

Our cute little boy, he is so much fun and so happy. With lots of facial expressions.

Brody's school pool party. It didn't happen at the end of last year because it rained. So we had it last weekend. This is one of his friends he was playing tag with. It looks more like kiss tag.

Colton waiting to get into the pool.

Loving the water and each other, and enjoying being big brother and sister.

July

Okay I am playing catch up on this summer so here it goes with lots of pictures and probably very few information.

This is Colton about 3 months old, he loves to be sitting up and seeing everything. I'm afraid as soon as he learns to roll over, crawl that he will be gone and walking before we know it.

Brody, Landon, and Kaylee enjoying each others company. They have not seen Landon for over a year(he was living in Florida) and were so excited to see him and play with him.

Anyone want a truck!!! We have been trying to sell this truck for the past 2 1/2 months. Lots of inquiries but no takers. Paul has decided that it costs too much, especially with gas prices.

Tubing with my brother at Hyrum Dam. Paul is trying to keep the tube out of the water. Kaylee is not in the water, their is a little weight difference here. I guess I should have gone with Kaylee, (it would still be tilting) but who would have taken the pictures.

This is a picture of our little princess at my parents house in Idaho.

Cousins, Weston and Colton, talking with one another. Weston was all about smiles and talking, and Colton was a little concerned.

Brody playing T-ball this summer. He enjoyed it but can't wait to play baseball with a pitcher. He would always hit the ball over the bases. I know were he got his love for sports from. (ME - okay his dad loves to play sports also)

Kaylee participating in a watermelon eating contest. Brody didn't want to participate, so he just watched.

This is a lizard that Paul caught for Brody in the mountains. We kept him for a few days, but I didn't want him getting lost in our house, plus I didn't want him to die so back the mountains he went.

One of our many trips to Bear Lake. I thought this was so cute of Brody helping Kaylee get into the raft. They are a ways off from the shore. Paul takes them out while he is snorkling, sometimes they bail ship.

Taking a break at the canyon by the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls before we go to a reunion. Okay, we had to visit Sportsmans Warehouse.

Kaylee loving being a big sister and helper. The kids absolutely love their little brother. He gets lots of attention and lots of hugs and kisses. Sometimes too much that he turns, and turns his head or cries because he needs space.

Carp, carp and more carp

We went to Bear Lake yesterday for a day in the sun. Yes the water is still a little cold. The kids played in the water for a little, but spent a lot of time looking for carp. They caught 3 of them with Paul's spear. He loves it. No we did not eat them. Colton and I stayed in our little beach tent.

Hospital again

Last week I was up feeding Colton (4 am) and all of a sudden I had a hard time breathing, couldn't take deep breaths. I sat their for a while curled up, moving around, arching my back, going to the bathroom, nothing helped. So finally after 10 minutes or so of nothing working I called Paul at work. He rushed home and we went up to the ER. After tests, ultra sounds, EKG's, and 2 hrs, the Dr told me that I had gall stones. It is a common thing he sees in women who have just given birth. (With all my neices and nephews I have not seen it nor heard of it, not that I am not saying it isn't common but 25 +). Anyways later that day we went and visited a surgeon about removing my gall bladder. Needless to say the next day, bright and early I was in the OR removing my gall bladder and receiving 4 new scars. I am feeling better and got all the air bubbles out, those were painful. So within the last month we have been to every end of the hospital.

Catch Up

Okay will it has been awhile since I have posted anything on this site. This past month has been a busy one for me.

I went to my Dr. Appt. on May 9th and my blood pressure was up. For the past month it has continually gone up. At this appt. it was 148/103. That is high especially when I have never had problems. The Dr. told us to go home grab our bags and be at the hospital in half an hour. That was at 4 pm and had Colton Packer McKinnon by 9 pm.
My blood pressure continued to stay high and then it dropped dramatically. 70/50. The baby's heart beat dropped to 50 bpm, the doctor was not there yet so the nurse had to start delivering the baby. It was very scary for all of us. We all ended up being okay. Colton had the cord wrapped around his neck, but was fine. He came out breathing and I got to keep him. They didn't take him to the nursey until they transfered me to the recovery room. My blood pressure stayed high for a week or so after the delivery. We are all okay and doing well after that.

Luckily both our parents were coming down this weekend to watch Kaylee perform in her first dance recital. Yes I had to miss it, I was in the hospital. Paul's parents ran Brody around to his Soccer game and to Kaylee's recital. My mom ran Kaylee to her dance rehersal and recital (4hrs of watching kids dance), Brook took care of Kaylee dolling her up for her recital (make up, hair).
My mother in law and mother came and took care of us for the next two weeks. It was great having grandmas here to help and play with the kids.

Dance Festival 2008

Kaylee's dance class was chosen to participate in the Dance Festival this year at Sky View. She danced so cute and had so much fun. They even gave them a dance trophy and ribbon for participating. If you can't tell which one she is, she is in the middle of the three girls.

Babies in our tummies

Kaylee and Paige are pretending to be pregnant with me. They have soccer and basketballs in their shirt as their babies.

I have 4 more weeks, but hopefully sooner. The way the doctor made it sound it would be within two weeks or so. The baby is very low and I am at a 2. Do you think we are ready for this, nope we are not. Hopefully this weekend we can between running kids all over the valley for various activites.

Brody's Performance

Brody has been participating in the Latin Folklore Dance at school. He is performing at a retirement center and later for cinco de mayo.

In the video he is between the two ladies heads. He was so cute to watch. He was scared to do it at first but he had fun.

Busy Mom

Okay yesterday has started my busy mom days. I don't know how you mom's do it. The morning was okay, but everything seemed to be in the evening. In the afternoon Brody had a Latin Folklore Dance at a Retirement home. He had a soccer game in the evening, and then I had Young Women's right after that (I would have skipped out on YW but I was in charge, I was 15 minutes late as it was). I dropped them off and told Paul to fix chicken nuggets for dinner and off I went. I got home, kids were still awake and Paul was getting ready for work. My next couple of Saturdays are worse than that. How do you juggle two kids doing activities at the same time at different places (opposite ends of the valley).

Purchased

Here is our newly purchased vehicle. This is not an April Fool's joke. It is a Dodge Caravan that seats 7 people. It is really nice and we like it alot. Paul is giving his thumbs up on the van.

Our Vehicle

Where do I start from. We are down one vehicle. Sure glad my brother has many vehicles to choose from so we can borrow one.

Well this happen on April 10. Paul was headed to a lunch for a co-worker that was leaving. This was on Hwy 89 headed north into town. The truck in front on him slammed on his breaks and Paul kissed the bumper. He said nothing happened to the truck except a scratch, and this is what happened to our vehicle. Paul is okay, nothing happened to him, except his pride is a little hurt (that is what he said). He has suppose to pick us up in Snowville that afternoon. Luckily he was able to borrow my brothers car to meet us. Most likely our car is totalled and we will be getting a new vehicle soon.

Spring Break

We went to our cabin in Wyoming for Conference weekend. Yes in Utah we had no snow but you go to Wyoming and they still have 3-4 feet of snow. The kids all loved it. My dad bought a Dog sled from his Klondike (sp), and brought it to the cabin. Everyone loved being pulled on it. And then you could here the kids outside yelling "we need some dogs to pull," kids go running to pull the sled. This is Brody, Mitchell (cousin) and Kaylee.

After the cabin the kids and I went to Idaho with my parents for a few days. Kaylee and Brody attended my mom's Preschool and Kindergarten and loved it.

Here is Kaylee going across the monkey bars in the back yard. She made it. I was kindof worried because it is a long fall down, and she has just barely (past week or so) started going across the bars (maybe 5 or 7 of them).

Brody loves the trampoline. He was doing front flips, cartwheels without hands, and attempting to do back flips. His back flips are improving, he lands on his back and then flips over. I'm can't remember what this picture was taking, but it looks like he is ready to face plant.

White Trash Entertainment

Trying to decide which toy to use on our big snow covered mountain.

Rich opted for the bike on the black diamond hill. Watch out for those holes.

Brody and Kaylee sharing the long sled. That was a long ride.

Paul snow boards down the black diamond hill. Balance, balance

Art and History Fair

Brody participated in the Edith Bowen Art and History Fair. It was held in the Internation Lounge on USU Campus. Paul came up with this idea. Plus Brody has been learning about Uncle Sam, the White House, Flag, etc. at school. I drew the picture out and Brody stuck all the tissue paper on it. This was a huge project to do in 3 days.

This is a picture of Brody talking to the judge about his project. I'm not sure if he was nervous or just listening to the guy.

Here is the final project with the trophy. Every child that participated in the fair received a trophy. They put some kind of rock on it every year and this year it is a marble. On the bottom of the trophy is lasered a discription of what a marble is and made out of.

It was a fun night. We did not know what to expect. We thought it was a walk through thing, talk to the judge and leave. But they had a little program where they announced the child's name and they got to walk up on the stage to receive their award.

Family Gathering

Last weekend we had a suprise party for Grandma Isom, before we went to the party we had a few boxing matches at our house. Brody started out boxing Randy, and gave him a few hits. I don't think Randy was ready for that.
Rich came over and joined in. Here are a few shots of the two of them going at it. Paul took on Randy also and then Rich. We usually have a boxing match every Friday or Saturday at our house with the kids and Paul.
Brody made sure we were all still friends when the boxing was over, "Group hug". He made all the boys hug each other to make sure all was okay still.

Frog mishap

We got home on Sunday, and checked to see that everything was good. Well it was all good except our frog "Hoppy" He passed away while we were on vacation. We let our house get a little too cold for him. We cam home to a dead frog.

Here are the kids digging a hole and buring the frog. I asked Brody this morning if he wanted to dig a hole of flush Hoppy down the toilet like, Nemo. He opted for digging the hole. They dug the hole and poured Hoppy in the ground. They are sad and miss their frog Hoppy.

Thanksgiving Bowl

The annual Thanksgiving bowl, was short on numbers this year. The boys had to adjust to just three people and sometimes Brody would pop in and play.

Brody watching from a distance, trying to decide if he wants to play. As you see we even had snow to play in, but still has somewhat warm to just wear a t-shirt.

A final picture of the players and some spectators, minus Gma and Gpa.

Brody's catch he almost caught, we missed the one he did catch.
